A big, fat, lie

A big, fat, lie

“Ignorance is bliss” is the most important quote you can hear in The Matrix (1, the only one you must see) but, if you think carefully about it, which character pronounces those three, powerful words?

(Lu)Cypher.

It is, in fact…a big, fat, lie.

Ignorance is a curse, 1000 times worse than cancer.

Our planet, 7.500.000.000 billion people, is controlled by the words of, maybe, only 10-15 of them. Words written a very long time ago.

Three guys’ words you really have to read and DEEPLY UNDERSTAND are those of:

Karl Marx

Adam Smith

Marshall McLuhan

One woman you should discover and deeply appreciate is: Susan Sontag.

I can’t say that all humanity is sheep, blindly controlled by the people who are filthy rich because they studied these guys’ words deeply. I want to be optimistic because it’s Sunday: 85%.

I don’t know if it makes me more angry or sad when I hear people from Italy, my native country, saying: “I don’t care about politics”. They simply IGNORE the etymology of the word or they, maybe, would understand that EVERYTHING IS POLITICS.

The news cycle in Italy is based on trivial subjects because the leaders (do they still exist?) remember, being dinosaurs, the words of the guys mentioned before and they use them carefully inside an evil machine called Advanced Capitalism.

If this structure would be an animal, its favourite food, the only one actually, would be: IGNORANCE.

Read then but, as the amazing Robin Williams and Matt Damon remind us in my belovedĀ Good Will Hunting, reading is not enough. You must read the good ones.
